About Us

We are a gathering of people who love God, revealed in Jesus, and present with us through the Holy Spirit. With God’s help we seek to share God’s love with others. Our people have a range of views about God and living as a Christian.

We are a local congregation of the United Reformed Church which is formed from Congregational, Presbyterian and Churches of Christ traditions. We started as a chapel on our current site in 1906, and lived without a building for much of the 1990s, then rebuilt in a more modern and usable style to serve our community.

‘Christ Well’ as a name comes from our desire to use our building as a place of refreshment and wellbeing for our community. During the week there are groups for children, older people and those with dementia.

We celebrate weddings, baptisms and christenings, and we are a place for holding funerals or memorial services.
